Video Available - Climate Change Forum by LWV Lake Michigan Region

LWVIN Natural Resources Advocacy | Published on 6/2/2022

We are happy to be able to share a YouTube video of the LWV Lake Michigan Region's recent Climate Change Forum:  League of Women Voters Lake Michigan Region: Climate Change Forum 2022.

The panelists are Tom Skilling, a beloved weatherman from Chicago's WGN TV news; Professor Donald Wuebbles, a Nobel Prize winning climate scientist; and Seth Darling, an officer at Argonne National Lab. All three came together at this event to speak to the LWV specifically. They know that we know how to educate our communities and advocate based on what we know. This video makes it possible for you to "attend" too. As a former officer of LWVLMR who has been attending climate change workshops and events for years, I (Cheryl) can tell you that this one is the best I have ever attended.  I'd encourage you to watch it yourself, and consider sharing it with your family and friends, maybe even at a League meeting. It answers any question (or objection!) to climate change science you've ever had, and you will feel a lot more confident in your ability to explain climate change and solutions in any conversation - whether with friends, family, people at work, or legislators!

Also, to learn more about the LWVLMR and how you or your local League can join, click here. This 4-state consortium of Leagues is focused on the preservation and protection of Lake Michigan and the Great Lakes, including addressing climate change as a real and present threat.
