If you're looking for some focused information about candidates before heading to the ballot box, two reliable sources in addition to VOTE411.org are The Indiana Capital Chronicle and The Statehouse File.

Indiana Capital Chronicle https://indianacapitalchronicle.com/category/election-2022/

The Indiana Capital Chronicle is an independent, nonprofit news organization dedicated to giving Hoosiers a comprehensive look inside state government, policy and elections. The site combines daily coverage with in-depth scrutiny, political awareness and insightful commentary. It is part of States Newsroom, a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit supported by grants and a coalition of donors and readers. It is free of advertising and free to readers.

The editor, Niki Kelly, has been covering the Statehouse for over 20 years, through 5 governors, much of it during her tenure at the Fort Wayne Journal-Gazette. She is a regular on Indiana Week in Review and appeared on a panel for LWVIN Presidents Day with Brandon Smith, host of Indiana Week in Review. The linked page archives multiple election-related articles in one place for a reader's convenience.

TheStatehouseFile.com. https://www.thestatehousefile.com/politics/elections/

The Statehouse File is an Indiana news site powered by the students of Franklin College’s Pulliam School of Journalism. With an office in the Indiana Statehouse, they report on state politics for 35 professional media outlets around the state and their own paying subscribers. Statehouse alums are everywhere from CNN and Indiana Business Journal to the halls of government and Indianapolis’ leading PR firms.

Mounting candidate debates and forums this year has been frustrating as candidates have opted not to participate, but the Senate Debate and the Secretary of State Debate are both posted on LWVIN.org. Additional local debates and candidate information should be available in your area (See The Fort Wayne Journal Gazette https://www.journalgazette.net/elections/, for example. The NWI Times is providing excellent election coverage, but their website does not provide a focused archive for election-related articles. https://www.nwitimes.com/news/local/govt-and-politics/. See their 10-23-2022 edition for several informative articles including on vote certification.)

It's not to late to contact local candidates who have not responded to VOTE411 questions! If you know, or meet, or can contact a candidate, please urge them to respond! An informed citizenry that votes is our best insurance for maintaining our democracy!

An excellent and unprecedented editorial makes that point: ArizonaRepublic: DemocracyUnderAttack

The League leader who shared it says, I’ve been reading the Arizona Republic since I moved here 10 years ago.  In that time, I’ve never seen an editorial on the front page, let alone above the fold. Certainly not one that covered more than 54 column inches as this one did.  The subject?  "Democracy Under Attack"
This unprecedented editorial articulates why this moment is so important, why the right to vote is so important, why truth is so important.  It recounts what we know to be true (the election was not stolen) and what we know has never been proven (there was no fraud and Arizona’s election system worked flawlessly).  It takes on a variety of conspiracy theories and rejects each one, in turn. Click the link to read for yourself. It will help you have more effective conversations with persuadable voters.
