Legislative Priorities

The LWVIN can take action on any state or national issue on which the League has a position. Each year, prior to the beginning of the legislative session, the LWVIN Board selects a few positions for emphasis. Most often these are areas where significant activity is expected.

In the 2010 short session, the LWVIN will give first priority to legislation related to:

•  Redistricting

•  Lobby/Ethics Reform

•  Reproductive Rights


The League’s second level priorities are:

•  Natural Resources (including energy)

• Local Government Reform

• Election Reform

The third level priorities are:

• Voter ID

• Health Care

• Courts

• Taxes

• Clean Elections

Please note, however, that as issues change, priorities may change.
