Legislative Priorities

The LWVIN can take action on any state or national issue on which the League has a position. Each year, prior to the beginning of the legislative session, the LWVIN Board selects a few positions for emphasis. Most often these are areas where significant activity is expected.

In the 2008 session the LWVIN will give first priority to legislation related to:

• the Health and Management of Lake Michigan
• the Election Process
• Taxation
• Reproductive Rights and Sexuality Education

The League will continue to monitor other high-level League concerns, such as Health Care and Judicial Selections.
